Matt started working in Health in 2003, when he was appointed Practice Manager of Goondiwindi Medical Centre.

Matt's immediate prior role was as a field based compliance officer for the Queensland Office of State Revenue.

Matt has an extensive management background, not just in Healthcare. One of Matt's management positions was at (then) Australia's largest fuel reseller. In that position Matt had seven budget divisions, $6.5 Million non-fuel sales, plus 40 Million litres of fuel per annum; Matt had 80 staff report to him, and he was only in his twenties. Matt had a Quality Assurance program before ISO 9002 was officially ratified. Coming to Healthcare businesses that have $2-$4 million turnover and six staff is a piece of cake in comparison.

Matt joined the Queensland state committee for the Australian Association of Practice Managers (AAPM) in 2009, and was for a year the vice-president of that volunteer committee.

Matt has part owned a skin cancer clinic in Toowoomba.

Matt extensively consults in practice management to Medical and Allied Health practices, Matt has supplied specialised IT knowledge and support for other healthcare practices consistently since 2005.

Matt is happily married for almost 20 years and has four children, including three teenagers.
